Reduce, reuse, redecorate– here are 10 ways you can upcycle old windows!
Recently my mom hand painted several old windows with inspirational quotes to sell in her craft booth. I love to paint furniture, but artistically painting is not my gift. I upcycled an old window into a dry erase board last week and was inspired to create more window projects. I started researching others that I could do, and I was pleasantly surprised! There are so many incredible window projects on Pinterest that I was overwhelmed! Below are 10 of my favorite upcycled window projects that I found through my search:
With painter’s tape, a little paint, and two cabinet handles, you can transform your old window into a beautiful tray!
When I first saw this headboard made out of a collage of antique windows, my heart stopped. Simple, yet elegant. You have to see it for yourself to understand what I mean.
If you’re feeling handy (or can convince your husband to do it), turn your old window into a unique table. It’s perfect as a coffee table or a side table. Plus, you can display items inside the table, too!
If you’ve always wanted to make your own greenhouse, this one seems like a perfect one to try! I don’t have a green thumb by any means, but this project was too cute not to share!
I love this super simple idea from Funky Junk Interiors– wrap twine tightly around your window and viola!
If your window doesn’t have any glass, staple chicken wire to the back and you’ll have an awesome picture holder. You can also hang memos on it like I did in the How to Upcycle an Old Window Frame into a Memo Board post.
We love chalkboard paint projects around here, so I’m totally digging the idea of painting the window panes of the window with chalkboard paint. The character of the old window contrasted against the black paint is just oh-so-pretty!
Upcycled furniture project, anyone? Use a window (or two) as a door in a DIY cabinet!
Do you have a jewelry hoard like I do? Organize it with the help of an old window. This could even be an unique craft booth display!
Use your vintage windows to showcase and display your favorite pictures. Add a punch of color to the back like Kristen Duke did with recycled cardboard, or you can use a fun, eco-friendly fabric.
