Cool Earth Climate Clock Exhibition

The San Jose Climate Clock Exhibition, that Inhabitat mentioned, caught my eye recently. Their critique of the art show is so interesting, especially as inspiration for an artist, as they ponder how we will “gauge the effects of climate change? Not just empirically but aesthetically, viscerally, visually?”

This is a question the city of San Jose is offering as a project to different groups of artists, and will be commissioning a Climate Clock. The art clock that is selected and commissioned will become a public art piece that will serve as an educational tool about global climate change, and perhaps it  will be like that awesome outdoor cool globes exhibit in San Francisco, we enjoyed early fall.

The importance of visualization cannot be underestimated…for some of us particually lil’ stuffed pink gorilla monkeys, we need just such visual splendor to help grasp not only a conceptual theme or idea but the things that at last may prove to be essential not only to the re-enlightening of our hearts and minds but also as some new form of educational and communicative awareness…would that it were that we were more mobile to take in such a journey to see it in person …thank you. Peace pinky!
