Have you heard of the alkaline diet? I’m not going to pretend to know all about this semi-complex concept, but the science is about PH balance and how that affects our health and well being. As in, a body that is overly acidic feels low in energy and can be more susceptible to disease. Alkaline is where it’s at, with this way of thinking.
So, how do we get alkaline bods? By eating alkaline foods. And, you guessed it, we Westerners eat boatloads of acidic foods.
I found the above breakdown of acidic v alkaline foods on Pinterest. As you can see, all the yummy stuff -coffee, croissants, wine- is highly acidic. To me this means, consume it in moderation. Highly alkaline foods (the good stuff) are veggies and fruits. Some of us can live strictly on the produce section. Others, myself included, must have a little dairy, coffee, and real milk chocolate to have a fulfilled quality of life. This is where balance comes in.
You can get your PH levels tested to find out your level of acidity. Could be those allergies, headaches, sinus infections, or fatigue are caused by high levels of acid in the body. Kris Carr gives shares her tips on eating alkaline.
