I am simply smitten with the cute organic cotton blouses from the Velvet Leaf ~ a sustainable clothing company.

Velvet Leaf defines sustainability as:

The ability to provide for the needs of the world’s current population without damaging the ability of future generations to provide for themselves. When a process is sustainable, it can be carried out over and over without negative environmental effects.

All of the VL clothing is ECO SKAL Certified, an International Control Union certification. Velvet Leaf’s gear is not only 100% certified organic cotton, but manufactured with certified factories that use fair labor, low waste dyes, and sustainable packaging, and “please rest assured that we never cut corners and will always be producing a 100% Certified organic product.”

The looks in this organic collection are darling and gorgeously photographed out on sun drenched dunes. ~Via ecofabulous

I know from first hand that organic cotton clothing is a great way to naturally alleviate some skin conditions.

That is an easy call since conventional methods of cotton production use such harsh chemicals.

I have heard some varying numbers on the amount, but everyone agrees the chemicals just are bad for the earth and us.

“Traditional cotton production also attributes to 25% of worldwide insecticide use and 10% of worldwide pesticide use.”
