My Skin is Sweet on Manuka Honey

Manuka honey

I tried something amazing this weekend!

It had been a long, energy-sapping week around the old homestead. And it showed on my face. Sallow, lack luster, washed out skin.

Luckily, on Friday, I received a sweet little package in the mail. Wedderspoon sent me their 100% Raw Organic Manuka Honey Actice 16+ for a try. Little did I know what this sugar bomb would do for my skin.

Wedderspoon suggests using their honey as a mask. Apply to clean skin, leave on for 10-20 minutes, and remove with warm water.

That is just what I did and, voila, instant transformation. My skin glowed, my pores were invisible, and (I swear!) my wrinkles were slightly less apparent. And my lips, because I put the honey on them too, were pink and plumped.

Manuka honey is no ordinary honey. Just what makes it so different?, you may ask. Well, Manuka honey comes from Manuka flower nectar gathered by bees in New Zealand. Manuka is a medicinal flower with unique healing properties. While all honey has health benefits, Manuka honey carries these special qualities of the Manuka plant.

When used on the skin, Manuka honey clears debris and impurities from pores, promotes healing of damage and scars, gently exfoliates dead skin cells, and softens the skin. I applied a small amount to a zit on my arm and left it for about 20 minutes. After rinsing the blemish was no longer red and a day later, all but gone.

Non-irritating, 100% organic, works like a million charms, and even tastes good. Simply the bees knees.
