The more and more we become aware of the harmful chemicals and substances in our beauty products, the easier it is to make the switch to friendlier products. This infographic, from Visual.ly, shows us just how prevalent these substances are in our daily lives. It’s hard to imagine that we have the potential for absorbing and taking in nearly 515 chemicals. If you were asked if it would be ok to ingest such a high amount, you wouldn’t have to think twice before you said no! This is a great visual to really put into perspective why we take the time, care, and action into making sure that what we put on our bodies, we wouldn’t mind putting into our bodies. If you want to do a little more reading about the most used harmful chemicals, our own Liz is doing a great series on the main chemicals to avoid.

Do any of the facts or statistics surprise you? Why or why not? I’d love to hear your thoughts, feelings, and reactions to these interesting facts and staggering numbers. Feel free to leave any comments, questions, or links.
