Phew! It is hot, hot, hot here in Chicago. When it gets to be in the upper 80’s outside, all I can think about is swimming and the beach. There isn’t a whole lot that is more cooling and relaxing than taking a dip on a hot and muggy summer day. What’s even better is scoring all of your beach gear in an eco-friendly way by buying vintage. There are so many fantastic places that you can buy vintage beach gear from, and Etsy is one of my favorites. Here are five pieces of great vintage beach gear for the upcoming season.

1. Blue Ruched Swimsuit

Ruching is beautifully flattering, and forgiving, on nearly all bodies. Vintage swimwear often accentuates this. This gorgeous 1950’s swimsuit, from Boohoo Blue Whale, would be a lovely suit to wear to the beach. The halter top style is also supportive while being gorgeous on every figure.

2. Embroidered Linen Cover Up

To keep covered while walking the boardwalk or strolling back to your car, try this beautiful cover up from Coco Vintages. The embroidered detail will have you standing out in the crowd and the combination of the linen fabric with the white color will keep you cool on a hot day.

4. Floral Tote

This tropical 1960’s tote, from Cloud Nine Vintage, would be the perfect bag to carry all of your beach essentials in. It’s not too big and bulky and the colors and pattern are perfect for summer.

5. Tortoise Shell Sunglasses

Finally, Coral Vintage brings us these adorable tortoise shell sunglasses from the 1960’s. These sunglasses have a nice shape and aren’t too big, so they would flatter many face shapes.

Are you excited for beach weather? What are some of your favorite accessories that you bring to the beach? I would love to hear about your beach gear and where you like to get it from! Feel free to leave any comments or links. Also, I am still thinking about and looking for more ideas for the June 30 Day Challenge. Stay tuned!
