According to Low Fat’s Alina Grotz:

…there’s barely “eco friendly knowledge” in Russia, and Vera and Marya Dmitrieva decided to set the brand in to show the Russian people that it’s not just important to look good but to know how and where the clothes and the food are made which they wear or eat. Most Russian people still don’t know that there are some chemical substances in it which are unhealthy and toxic.

Low Fat clothing uses eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, hemp, and fabric from recycled plastic. They also focus on natural dyes such as powdered natural minerals, juice, fruit, and pollen. They stick to recycled materials for their packaging and marketing, as well.

Vegans: watch out. Some of their products are made with “milk fiber,” but that is the only animal product in the Low Fat line. They don’t use any leather, ivory, whalebone, horse hair or other animal products.

You can check out the Low Fat website to see more of their designs. Not a Russian speaker? Here’s a translated version of the Low Fat site. Low Fat has been a brick and mortar store since 2009, and they just launched their online shop last month!
