Mining for these metals contaminates surrounding waterways, contributes to soil erosion, and often is not much better than the strip mining or <a href=\"http:\/\/planetsave.com\/2010\/11\/30\/mountain-heroes-help-stop-mountaintop-removal-today\/\" target=\"_blank\">mountaintop removal<\/a> we associate with dirty coal.<\/p>\n<p>Figs &#038; Ginger teamed up with the DuckDuck Collective to produce a short documentary about their process.
