Commercial waxes are often full of questionable ingredients such as “fragrance,” which could mean anything including a slough of untested chemicals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sugar waxing, or Hawala, originated in the Middle East, where women have been using this hair removal method for ages. Sugaring is an all natural, inexpensive way to remove unwanted hair. All you need is sugar, water, lemon juice, a butter knife, and strips of fabric.<\/p>\n

Once it’s cooled enough to handle, use a butter knife or popsicle stick to spread the wax onto your skin wherever you’re trying to remove the hair. Smooth a piece of muslin or denim down onto the waxed area, then quickly pull the fabric up against the grain of the hair.<\/p>\n
