However Friday night I decided it was time to try a bottle of organic wine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.coopermountainwine.com\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Cooper Mountain Vineyard<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in Oregon offers a great selection of organic and biodynamic wines of which I happened to have a bottle of\u00a0their <strong>2007 Pinot Gris Reserve<\/strong>. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I am a red wine person but the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coopermountainwine.com\/html\/gris_5_oldvines.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pinot Gris<\/a> was very crisp and flavorful. Hints of other fruity flavors mingled with the fine flavor of the grapes. It was the first time I really had the chance to savor the flavor while testing out an organic wine.<\/p>\n<p>Cooper Mountain also offers Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Malbec wines all of which are made with organic grapes and farmed with biodynamic practices.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s very interesting to read about biodynamic farming. It involves not just natural (homeopathic) and organic methods\u00a0but uses astronomy, the earth&#8217;s gravitational pull via the position of the moon and geological information to create the best means in which to farm. Wow. Sounds complicated but very awesome.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cooper Mountain Vineyards is in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and are certified organic by the Oregon Tilth.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in their area you should stop by for a taste.
