As always, I’m your host, Terri Bly, and today we will be presenting the awards for Best Natural Lipstick<\/strong> and Best Natural Lipgloss<\/strong>. A quick reminder for those of you just tuning in: The products considered for these awards are the the safest and most natural on the market. Unlike many other green beauty awards, every product you’ll find here is completely free of petroleum-based chemicals, parabens, and other potentially harmful chemicals, are are at least 98% (and often 99-100%) natural. Our panelists are beauty experts who use mostly or only natural beauty products.<\/p>\n

As you get ready for a summer weekend filled with fun, I want to leave you with our expert panel’s picks for Best Natural Lipstick<\/strong> and Best Natural Lipgloss<\/strong>. If you are hesitant to go green with your makeup, or don’t know where to start, taking the chemicals out of your lip products is a great first step; not only because you eat your lipstick (over 4 lbs in a lifetime), but because lipstick and lipgloss contain some of the worst chemicals on the market. Why risk eating lead and plastic when there are literally hundreds of amazing choices that are safe, natural, moisturizing AND beautiful?<\/p>\n

Our beauty experts had no difficulty whatsoever sending in their votes, but no single brand floated to the top. Which is great news for you, because each category will consequently have several winners, giving you a number of brilliant lippies to choose from when you’re out (or online) shopping!<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>This new, organic line of lip and cheek stain from veteran celebrity makeup artist Rose-Marie Swift is quickly rising to the top of everyone’s must-have list. With certified organic coconut, jojoba, and argan oils, the lip2cheek is as much of a lip healer with mineral color as it is a lipstick. Panelists describe lip2cheek as “soft, sophisticated and stylish,” easy to blend and worth the price as a little goes a very long way. \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Hauschka Lipstick, $23.95<\/strong>
\n<\/a>Perhaps the best-known name in natural beauty products, Dr. Hauschka has a virtual mantle-full of “best of” awards for their high-quality makeup, and the lipstick is no exception. One panelist described it as “densely pigmented, long lasting and smooth,” and you can find it at many local health food stores, including Whole Foods, as well as online.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>This small\u00a0Canadian company\u00a0took the natural beauty world by storm with their USDA Certified Organic All-Over Cream and Body Balm. Recently, they launched their high-performing, fashion-forward color line, further solidifying their position as a top-tier brand determined to revolutionize the prestige beauty market. Our panelists are particularly in love with their new line of lipglosses, describing them as “ultra glossy, hydrating, moist and actually long-lasting.” Although they are currently available only on QVC and qvc.com<\/a>, they will be available around the country beginning July 1st, so be sure to check back to

I was a bit surprised by this choice. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t even include it in the list of glosses to choose from. It was a write-in, and written in often enough to be one of the winners! We sell Sante at The Nature of Beauty, and our customers either love it or send it back. Our panelists, however, praised its smooth, non-sticky quality and glossy finish.
