Earlier this month, Forbes released the 2015 30 Under 30<\/a><\/em>\u00a0listing, which included several eco- and ethically-minded fashion-folk<\/a>.<\/p>\n Forbes has been releasing 30 Under 30<\/em> for four years now and this year’s list boasted “600 millenials in 20 fields.” \u00a0The round-up is divided into 20 categories, including, but not limited to: venture capital, art & style, energy, finance, and social entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n This year’s 30 Under 30<\/em> was a who’s-who of the environmentally elite. \u00a0With an entire energy category, and some awe-inspiring wearable tech<\/a>, the listing, thankfully, also\u00a0did not shy away from some\u00a0sustainability-minded fashion<\/a> front-runners.<\/p>\n First up is Reese Fernandez Ruiz, one of 30 Under 30<\/em>‘s notable “social entrepreneurs.” \u00a0Fernandez-Ruiz co-founded Rags2Riches<\/a>, a for-profit “social enterprise” based in the Phillipines. \u00a0Not only does Rags2Riches produce its\u00a0goods (home and personal accessories) from upcycled, ethically-sourced, and local materials, but Rags2Riches\u00a0employs local artisan women. \u00a0Employees are paid\u00a0a fair wage and are provided\u00a0with resources and education so that they might further build on their skill sets and existing knowledge-base. \u00a0Shop Rags2Riches here<\/a>\u00a0– these products are more than affordable.<\/p>\n Also featured, in the “retail & e-commerce” of 30 Under 30\u00a0<\/em>category are Natasha Tucker and Cora Hilts, co-founders of Reve En Vert<\/a>, a Website which features sustainable, eco-friendly brands in the fashion and lifestyle arenas. \u00a0Though the brand does carry some leather items, Reve En Vert’s “ethos” is based on four foundational elements, which\u00a0delineate that the\u00a0items they sell be local, independent, sustainable and ethical. \u00a0Tucker and Hilts very clearly understand that they have a choice in terms of who\u00a0they support and what they sell: “It is a project of passion by the two of us to support designers that are doing their best to improve the standards of the design industry.” \u00a0Shop Reve En Vert here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Take a peek at all of the other well-deserving recipients of placement on Forbes’\u00a030 Under 30\u00a0<\/em>listing and feel inspired!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
