As\u00a0I look back on 2014 and think about my resolutions for 2015<\/a>, I, like the rest of the world<\/a>, would like to concentrate on a healthier new year, my general health and well-being. \u00a0Of course I’d like to lose a few pounds, but, more importantly, I’d like to be mindful about my attempts at weight loss and improved physical activity\u00a0and even more mindful about my emotional health.<\/p>\n

Becky talked about effectively managing those resolutions by setting SMART goals<\/a>, in her post for Vibrant Wellness Journal, which is the best place to start when determining how to best stick to a specific objective. \u00a0With those\u00a0guidelines and a resolution in mind, follow these 3 super-easy tips for a healthier new year.<\/p>\n

3 Simple Tips for a Healthier New Year<\/h2>\n

1) When in doubt, write it down<\/a>.<\/strong> \u00a0And I mean everything. \u00a0Keep a weekly menu so that you can also keep your sanity come 5 p.m. on a weeknight, but also so that you might use it to make your grocery list and <\/em>to\u00a0retrace your steps in order to count calories. \u00a0Log your workouts and your meals on a free tracking site or app (I like SparkPeople<\/a>). \u00a0Write down the dates and times of your group exercise classes. \u00a0If you don’t keep a planner or calendar, paper or electronic, consider doing so. \u00a0You can’t improve what you can’t measure, so keep track for a healthier new year.<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0<\/strong>Clean house (and stock up)!\u00a0<\/strong>Give your home some healthy organizing by tossing the items in your kitchen that spell disaster for your health. \u00a0Get rid of the holiday sweets\u00a0and snacks and replace with healthy (and super convenient) foods like:<\/p>\n
