Have you been feeling a little bit stressed out lately? Treat yourself with these home spa recipes!

I don’t know what’s in the air right now, but everyone I know is stressed to the gills. If you’re living on a budget like more of my friends, chances are you can’t afford to hit an organic spa to pamper your stress away. What you can do instead is whip up your own home spa recipes with organic ingredients to treat yourself on the cheap.

1. Southern Lights Bath Salts

Muscle-soothing epsom salts plus a mellow, earthy scent? Don’t mind if I do! I originally shared this recipe for woodsy bath salts at our sister site, Crafting a Green World. If you want to give this as a gift, check out the bath salts tutorial – it comes with a free printable label!

Recipe: Combine 2 cups epsom salts with 15 drops Texas cedarwood or sandalwood essential oil. Stir, then add to the tub

2. Homemade Sugar Scrub

This DIY sugar scrub is one of the simplest home spa recipes ever. It’s great for exfoliating arms, hands, and legs. Want to give this one as a gift? Head over to my personal site to grab the free printable label!

Recipe: Combine 3 parts sugar to 1 part olive oil, then stir in 15-20 drops of your favorite soothing essential oil, like lavender or jasmine. You can mix and match your oils to create your own custom home scents, too!

3. Essential Oils for the Bath

You don’t even need to make bath salts to have a spa-like soak!

Recipe: Just 10-20 drops of essential oils in the tub add an extra layer of relaxation to your bath. Choose soothing oils like lavender, chamomile, or jasmine.

4. Use an Oil Burner

If you’d rather not use oils in the tub, you can also burn them in an oil burner. You can find a burner online or make your own!

Recipe: Combine water and about 5 drops of essential oil in the top of your oil burner. Blow out the candle when the water is all evaporated.

5. DIY Foot Scrub

The sugar scrub above is great for gentle exfoliating, but for more serious dry skin – like feet and elbows – a rougher scrub is what you need.

Recipe: Combine 1/4 cup sea salt or epsom salts with 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil. Scrub away, then wash off the extra salt and oil in the tub or shower.
