Sure, you can hit the department store and buy a new dress, but where was that garment made<\/a>, and what’s the environmental impact of producing it<\/a>? The beauty of buying vintage is that you’re opting out of that system of production and waste. Sure, a vintage dress had an impact – possibly a hefty one – when it was made, but that is all in the past. When you buy vintage or thrift store clothing, you are extending that dress’s life and making your wardrobe more fabulous at the same time. Win-win!<\/p>\n You can scour local thrift and vintage shops for vintage dresses, but sometimes it’s nice sometimes to find a shop where the digging and curating is done for you. These Etsy sellers have done the work for you, so you can just click, shop, and then thrown on your beautiful new (to you) dress when it arrives on your doorstep.<\/p>\n Seller Light Witch Vintage has a lovely pleated day dress<\/a> in a bold, tropical 50s print. I love that in the photos she pairs it with saddle shoes in the photos! My instinct would be to grab a pair of sandals or ballet flats with this dress, and the lace up shoes are so unexpected and cute!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Yellow and gray is a super hip color combination right now, and Buy a Thread Vintage has the perfect dress to keep you on trend, vintage style! I’m loving the cut and the pattern of this yellow and gray sun dress<\/a>. This is another 50s find, and it would be great for day-to-night. Just add a cardigan, and you’re ready to head out for the evening.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n When you’re talking vintage, you can’t go wrong with polkadots! Don’t you just love the bright pink dots on this dress from Chipped Green Chair<\/a>? This vintage find is handmade. Handmade vintage finds always intrigue me, because I wonder about the woman who made them. What sort of machine did she use? What pattern?
