Vancouver local label Fate announces sustainable fashion line, featuring up-cycled vintage clothing and garments made from surplus material.
FATE announced the launch of its first sustainably designed fashion collection this week. The collection features up-cycled vintage and garments made from surplus material, made locally in Vancouver.
FATE, formerly FATE Vintage, began as a curated vintage line, sold at the ‘Today’ boutique in Gastown. After the success of styling a vintage collection at Eco Fashion Week, owner, Sara Gourlay, felt inspired to continue to find ways to create a fashion forward aesthetic and offer inspired, sustainable style.
The collection includes exclusive and limited edition pieces, characterized by clean lines, attention to detail, and contemporary styling, an aesthetic signature of FATE. FATE‘s collection is a response to the negative outcomes of fast-fashion and aims to inspire women to take part in the new movement of a conscious, curated life. The brand’s name is based on the belief that the most important factor that shapes our fate is the responsible decisions that we make.
