Valentine’s Day Ideas: My Vegan Valentine in Chicago

Vegan Valentine's Day Ideas: My Vegan Valentine

Looking for Vegan Valentine’s Day ideas? There’s a one-stop shop for Chicago peeps who want a cruelty-free heart day.

The super-awesome Natalie Slater of Bake and Destroy is teaming up with Paper Moon Pastry to host a cruelty-free event chock full of vegan Valentine’s Day ideas! My Vegan Valentine is an indie market, and Natalie is going to be doing cooking demonstrations from her awesome new vegan cookbook: Bake and Destroy: Good Food for Bad Vegans.

Of course, you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy delicious baked goods and indie crafts, so this market is really a great option for any Chicago folks looking for unique Valentine’s Day ideas!

Vegan candy and baked goods make sense, but what about other Valentines’ Day ideas, like gifts? There are actually a lot of animal products that can hide in store-bought products. Vegans don’t use any animal products, so that means no wool, feathers, silk, or leather. All of the goodies at My Vegan Valentine are going to be 100% cruelty free!

Seriously, if it weren’t a 14 hour drive for me, I would totally be at the event, if for nothing more than the amazing-looking menu that Paper Moon Pastry is cooking up:

chili and cornbread
vegan hot chocolate
fresh baked granola
red velvet cupcakes
cardamom rosewater cupcakes
chocolate lavender cupcakes
mexican hot chocolate cupcakes (also gf)
mocha brownies (also gf)
oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
ginger molasses cookies
peanut butter chocolate chip cookies
snickerdoodle cookies

For more details about the menu, demos, and vendors at My Vegan Valentine, check out the Facebook event page.

My Vegan Valentine will be on February 8th and 9th from 9am to 5pm at Paper Moon Pastry; 3523 W. Fullerton Ave; Chicago.
