Spotted: Handmade Vegan Shoes

vegan ballet flats Molly Puzo creates beautiful, handmade vegan shoes in her Long Beach, California studio.

Wait a second…vegan shoes? Do vegans eat their shoes? While vegan footwear might seem like a weird concept, for someone embracing a cruelty-free lifestyle, choosing vegan kicks makes perfect sense. If you don’t think it’s right to raise animals for food, chances are you also aren’t mad about strapping their skin to your feet.

Finding vegan shoes has gotten a lot easier over the years, but I’m still always looking for new cruelty-free options. When I ran across these handmade vegan shoes from Etsy seller Hydra Heart, I was over the moon! Not only were no animals harmed in the making of her sweet ballet flats, but when you choose handmade, you’re supporting an artist who’s making a living from her creativity. Think of it as an extra layer of compassion.

Molly Puzo is the brains and the hands behind Hydra Heart. She creates each pair of vegan ballet flats with love, and she’ll even make a custom pair! She calls her custom shoes “bridal flats,” but anyone with a ballet flats obsession could wear these.
