Product Review: Naturelle d’Argan

You’ve heard about the healthy skin benefits of argan oil, right? No?!

Well, this powerful nut oil holds anti aging benefits and manages to be super hydrating without being greasy. Another bonus, it is one of the oils that works really well on oily skin. I wrote more on argan oil a while back, so rather than go over it all again in the post you can read up on it in Argan Oil a True Beauty .

Naturelle d’Argan is a brand dedicated to making, as the name implies, natural argan oil products. Voila. What makes this brand unique is they claim to use the world’s only “100% Pure Deodorized Argan Oil”. I have used several different brands of pure argan oil and never really noticed much scent, so this prompted a closer look.

The Naturelle d’Argan website includes a video on argan oil: what it is, where it comes from, why it’s good, and explains that the nutty aroma is removed in manufacturing prior to being used in cosmetics. Evidently some people do not like its natural scent. I am going to have to get my argan oil out and give it a sniff.

The two products I tried are the Silky Moisturizing Body Lotion and Nourishing Hand Cream, both of which have an “orange flower” aroma. I love how they feel and make my skin look, but the scent smells more grassy to me, and my friends agree. This, though, is most likley whatever oils they have added for fragrance, and not the argan itself.

Naturelle d’Argan products are made without synthetic preservatives, silicones, are GMO-free, and packaged in recyclable containers. Now before anyone goes and gets excited over the term Parfum (Fragrance) listed on product labels, remember that this can mean essential oils as well as synthetic. In this case the fragrance used is non-synthetic. It says so on their website. I checked.
