You’ve heard it before. You get what you give.
So if you are putting out negativity, feeding yourself downer mantras, and generally thinking yucky thoughts you most likely will receive more of the same.
This may sound hokey to some of you. If you doubt the power thought has on your body and life, try this: Think of something in your life right now that is dogging you, bringing you down, really riding your butt. Get into it and imagine you are dealing with it right now. How do you feel? Cruddy, I’m betting.
Now consider going about the rest of your day feeling this way. You’ll be distracted, mired down, and irritable. How are you supposed to be available to receive opportunities and happy thoughts in that state of mind?
I’ve always been a believer in the power of positive thinking, like my parents before me. But sometimes it can get tough to keep that frame of mind. For all of us.
So here is what I did. For just one day I decided to be grateful for everything. Even stuff I didn’t necessarily have. And you know what? It felt so great I kept on doing it. I got compliments on my work and the way I look, juicy ideas and how to meet goals were flooding into my mind, and I felt much more at peace and … happy!
Seriously, give positivity a try. If only for one day, to see how it feels. Read more on overcoming negativity from power guru Deepak Chopra.
