MADARA is Simple Modern Skincare

MADARA first crossed my radar on Love Lula, the London-based natural cosmetics shop.  The clean, sorta funky, label just screams modern skincare and that always gets my attention.  I must admit, though, that I had not tried the line until recently.

MADARA -Latvian for “wild madders”, a plant prolific in the Baltic meadows- is a line of simple, yet oh-so- contemporary, skincare created in the region by four women stemming from their love of natural lifestyle.  And, until recently, not available in the US.

The first thing I check when a company sends me their products is…you guessed it, the LABELS.  Once those check out I move on to actually sampling the products.  Well, MADARA’s labels did (check out).  Full of plant ingredients and none of the nasties.

Though the ladies of MADARA firmily believe that “love of life” is the best secret to beauty, they also realize that skin needs external care too.  They offer a three step guide to skincare:  cleanse, tone, and moisturize.  Simple, right?

I sampled three products from the line.  First up, Deep Purifying Foam facial cleanser.  This product is made for all skin types and, though I rarely use a foamy cleanser on my dry/sensitive skin, this one was perfect after a workout and did not cause any irritation.  Super mild and gentle.

Next up, Deep Moisture Cream for dry to very dry skin.  Bingo!  This cream really does the trick on providing moisture to dry skin without being greasy.  And the smell is subtley grassy without being at all overwhelming.  Both of these products come in a pump bottle to maintain freshness.

MADARA also sent Moon Flower Tinted Fluid from their DecoFace line.  Provides light, natural color to skin with mineral pigments and just a hint of moisture.  More subtle than a foundation and the light Moom Flower was perfect for my fair (pink undertones) skin.  The line also carries a Sun Flower for those with yellow undertones.

The next product from the MADARA line up that I would love to try is the Flower Dust Shimmering Lotion, which Rachel Zoe apparently dies for as spotted on The Zoe Report.

MADARA products are certified by ECOCERT and are made with flower and herb extracts from the Baltic region.  Packaging is environmentally friendly and products are never tested on animals.
