Protecting your lips from cold weather is important, but another way to keep your lips soft and moisturized in the chilly months is with a homemade lip scrub.
When the weather starts to get cool and dry, the first part of my body it affects is my lips. If you’re anything like me, dry lips are as much a sign of fall as changing leaves and shorter days. Dry, cold weather saps the moisture from your lips, and when that happens we end up with dead skin on top, which makes our lips looks peely and scratch. No, thank you! Check out this simple recipe for DIY lip scrub that you can make at home!

Lip Scrub Notes
- You can make this a vegan beauty recipe by using agave nectar in place of the honey.
- Instead of buying a new container to store your scrub, wash out an old lip balm or small container from your beauty bag, and use that instead! It’s a good excuse to check your beauty products’ expiration dates, which you should do once a year anyway.
- If you don’t have jojoba oil handy, you can substitute olive oil, sweet almond oil, or any other carrier oil.
- You can add soothing essential oils like lavender or sage to make this even more soothing to your skin.
Are your lips your main problem area in the winter? My knees, hands, and elbows all take a beating in cold weather. What other body parts suffer when the weather changes?
