How many of us think of scent as something that we can use to help construct or design the type of environment we want to live in – much like changing apartments, moving house or travelling – but this is the opportunity to affect our existence on a daily basis, using aromatheraputic techniques to alter our mindset, mood and energy. This one day symposium will explore those types of thoughts and more with leading thinkers, scientists, designers and architects playing with scent as a new territory for design. The event is happening in collaboration with MoMA, IFF and Parsons and will mark the establishment of a new MFA in Transdisciplinary design at Parsons. Headspace: On Scent As Design is taking place at The New School, Tishman Auditorium in New York on the 26th March. Conceived by Paola Antonelli senior curator in the Department of Architecture and Design at The Museum of Modern Art; Jamer Hunt, chair of Urban and Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons the New School for Design; and Laetitia Wolff, founder of futureflair, this is one event you shouldn’t miss.
