We are into sharing green living tips, news, and reviews here on FGS. Did you know we have some pretty awesome sister sites here at the Important Media network too? I’d love to introduce you to two of them today.
Hi there! Why don’t you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello! I’m Becky Striepe, site director at Eat Drink Better and Crafting a Green World. I’m a vegan crafter from Atlanta, GA and mama to a sweet one-year-old named Darrol Henry. I’m all about making vegan food and green crafts accessible to everyone, even beginners, and I’m honored to work with some amazing people at Eat Drink Better and Crafting a Green World. At Eat Drink Better, I co-edit with Tanya Sitton and a team of sustainable food writers. My co-editors at Crafting a Green World are Bonnie Getchell and Julie Finn.
What can folks learn about at Crafting a Green World and Eat Drink Better?
Crafting a Green World is all about upcycling, reuse, and choosing sustainable craft supplies. Bonnie, Julie, and I write tutorials, review green craft products, and share awesome examples of green crafting from around the DIY community.
At Eat Drink Better, we are all about sustainable food. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian, locovore, or just trying to get some healthier food into your pantry, we’ve got you. Tanya, our writer, and I cover a wide range of food topics from recipes to food marketing and safety. Tanya and I are both vegan, but Eat Drink Better is not a 100% vegan site. We embrace anyone who’s trying to make food choices that are healthier for themselves and for the planet.
Can you share some of your most popular posts?
Of course! At Crafting a Green World, our top three posts are: how to make a beach vacation keepsake, 10 ways to craft with your old sweaters, and a video tutorial on making your own upside-down tomato planter.
Eat Drink Better’s top articles are a list of the healthiest vegetables and fruits that you can eat, diet tips for clearer skin, and a write-up about The Great Vegan Search Engine Project.
What’s one little-known fact about Eat Drink Better and Crafting a Green World?
For Eat Drink Better, a lot of folks think it’s a vegan site, because it has two vegan editors, but it isn’t. Tanya and I inherited the site, and while we have certainly skewed things toward more vegan topics, we don’t want to exclude omnivores who are trying to eat more mindfully.
Where else can readers find you?
Thank you so much for inviting me to talk about my sites. This was so much fun!
