Four Beauty Fixes in Your Kitchen

In the latest edition of Lucky Magazine they ran an article titled “15 Secrets From Top Dermatologists”.  Lucky interviewed three derms from NYC and Miami, each offering up their choices of skincare, none of which were organic or nontoxic.

But I did come away from this piece armed with a few more natural tricks to add to my beauty arsenal.  And the real beauty here is that they can all be found right in the kitchen.

The food/beauty connection is soooo important because beautiful, healthy skin is unreachable without a healthy diet to back it up.  Try these foods as natural beauty rememdies:

  • Foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon and walnuts, help to prevent premature aging, keeping skin plumped and supple.
  • Antioxidants help to fight free radical damage caused by pollution, UV damage and toxins in the environment.  Find them in blueberries, pomegranates, and green and white teas.
  • Lucky suggests cooled black tea bags for reducing puffiness and dark under eye circles, but I like to use green.  Green tea contains more antioxidants than black tea, and you can either drink it or use it as a facial toner.
  • For an all natural eczema fix try a whole milk compress followed by a hypoallergenic cream.  RMS Beauty Coconut Cream is perfect here.
