Clay Hill Farm Is Giving Away a $40,000 Green Wedding

Clay Hill Farm is giving away a green wedding package to one lucky couple worth over $40,000.

“The Clay Hill Farm’s Green Wedding Giveaway contest challenges couples on the verge of a major life commitment to explore the parallel of a commitment to each other and a commitment to the earth. This is not a contest measuring green. Not at all. This is a creative challenge of exploration and awakening.”

Marriage is about commitment and compromise, so is being green. Clay Hill Farm wants to know if these two concepts can be explored in conjunction? Is there a place for green at your table?

Tell Clay Hill Farm “your story in a play, a video, a painting, a poem, a song, an essay or whatever suits your fancy. Be creative, be poignant, be green (or not). Pick your shade and shout it to the world.”

You could win a green wedding prize package valued at over $40,000.

If you win the grand prize you get to have a Green Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Clay Hill Farm in York, Maine on the Summer Solstice- June 21st 2009 for up to 100 guests . It will be a daytime wedding and reception from 11 am-4:30 pm.

Details:

Engaged couples must complete their online applications and mail their entries on a CD or DVD to the contest address by December 31st, 2008. Fill out the online application here.

The top-five couples will be decided by a panel of Clay Hill judges and will be revealed at a bridal fair in Portsmouth, NH on January 11, 2009.

After the top-five couples are revealed, the public will vote and pick the winner. Public ballots will be available on the Clay Hill Farm site.

The winning couple will be announced February 13th 2009, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

“The Green Wedding Giveaway will be a daytime wedding ceremony and reception at Clay Hill Farm on June21, 2009, the summer solstice. Rehearsal dinner, ceremony, catered reception, Hand-painted watercolor invitations, flowers, photography, DJ services, live cocktail music, cake, hybrid bridal transportation, spa services, organic beverages, tuxedo rentals, wedding-night suite and honeymoon week.”

This sounds like a fabulous opportunity to get a great green wedding package for free. Of course you will have to be open to getting married on June 21st in Maine and be prepared to halt any wedding planning until January to see if you are a finalist and then February 13th (if you make it to the final round) when you find out whether or not you are the winner.

But if you are open to that, this contest is a great way to get a fancy green wedding for free.
