Brilliant Earth Ethical Diamonds are a Green Girl’s Best Friend

Ethical diamonds and sapphires are spectacular and let me tell you Brilliant Earth is a beautiful blessing for the green girl wearing white. They offer certified conflict free diamonds and sapphires crafted with love, fair labor practices, and eco-friendly ethics. 5% of all their profits donated go to help local African communities harmed by the diamond industry. In fact, they really do have unrivaled quality and customer service offering a premium custom design service which allows customers to create unique pieces tailored to individual preferences.

The sapphires are from Sri Lanka where local gem miners rely on traditional mining practices that have been employed for 2,000 years without environmental damage.

So where do the ethical diamonds come from? Well, they explain:

“Our Canadian diamonds are certified to originate from conflict free sources with the highest ethical standards. Brilliant Earth sources Canadian diamonds from two Canadian diamond mines, the Diavik and the Ekati Diamond Mines. These mines integrate environmental responsibility into all of their activities. The Diavik Diamond mine promotes responsibility through its environmental agreement with the Canadian Government and local indigenous tribal groups. A management plan governs the environmental stewardship of land and water at the Ekati Diamond Mine, which includes comprehensive effects-monitoring programs for wildlife and aquatics.”

Brilliant Earth only sources environmentally responsible precious metals as well, including recycled gold, platinum and silver. Their precious metals come from renewed sources from recycled jewelry or industrial products. “The precious metals are reclaimed and then re-refined to produce gold and platinum of identical quality to newly mined metals. By using renewed metals, our goal is to reduce the need for additional “dirty” mining.”
