Body oil is the best way to hydrate skin no matter what time of year, but there is something about the thirst-quenching glow it gives to skin in summer months that is just the bomb. Whether you are looking for deep down hydration, sultry summer scent or a little of both I have options for you.
Unlike body lotion, body oil soaks deeply into skin and leaves lingering scent. Worried about being greasy? No sweat. Apply sparingly and massage into skin, go about your business for a few minutes and dress as usual. No greasies and skin stays soft and smooth all day. Plus the scent seems to become part of the skin.
Following are my current top three:
Aromafloria Healing Waters Body Smoothing Treatment is lightly moisturizing and carries a fresh, island-y scent. Summer perfection. Made with organic ingredients, 100% vegan.
Intelligent Nutrients Organic Total Body Elixir is my new favorite body hydrator. This stuff is super luxurious and you only need a little bit to do the trick. Comes in several scents, my fave is spicy Seductive. Mmmmm. Made with Intelligent Nutrients Intellimune Seed Oil Complex, these Elixirs offer a bounty of antioxidants to detox and purify the skin.
Tata Harper Revitalizing Body Oil carries a hefty price tag, but this decadent body oil is hard to beat. Rich, elegant and the soft floral scent is luscious. Made from the purest natural and organic ingredients.
Give skin some extra tlc with these nourishing, good-for-skin, fabulously scented oils. Don’t forget to check out my Pinterest board, OBS VIP, for more of my summertime natural beauty favorites.

Organic? I don’t think so.
Both coconut-derived. While not every single ingredient is organic, there are many organic ingredients used to make these nontoxic products I’ve listed above. The terms “Organic”, “natural” and “nontoxic” tend to be used interchangeably in the “natural” cosmetics biz, a problem in itself I agree. I should probably add a disclaimer to posts like these saying as much, just to be clear.
How do i make home made exfoliators .Thanks
Chaline, my fave is organic sugar mixed with organic milk, just enough to make a paste. This mixture works on both face and body, and makes skin super smooth. Always remember to exfoliate gently, you don’t want to irritate skin. If you like a little hydrtion, add a few drops of oil to the mixture, like olive or sweet almond. I add a little honey sometimes too, it is a natural smoother and healer.
Hi Liz,
Have you tried the Spiezia Organic ones? 100% Pure cold pressed Body oils.
Best regards,
Samantha
Samantha, I have not tried the Spiezia body oils, but will have to look into them. Thanks for the info:)
Body oil is awesome. I’ve never used any of the oils above, but I actually make an all natural organic Shaving Oil & Skin Salve that can and is encouraged to be used as a body oil as well. The benefits of each individual oil I used as ingredients are extensive and simply amazing. My skin feels so healthy after putting it on it’s like being a child again with that young, perfect skin.
