3 Healthy Hair Oils

1. Avocado

Possibly the best oil for lending bounce, shine, and volume to hair. Avocado oil is rich in vitamins A, D and E to support hair strength and growth. This oil is also high in essential unsaturated fatty acids which softens and adds luster. To get in on the goodness of avocado, try applying the oil to hair once or twice monthly as a treatment. Simply massage into scalp and work through ends of hair. Don a towel for 15-20 minutes and allow oil to soak into hair and scalp. Shampoo and condition as usual. Hair is soft, springy, and voluminous. If you’d rather use an avocado oil containing product, opt for Yarok Feed Your Youth Anti-Aging Hair & Scalp Treatment.

2. Apricot

Apricot kernel oil is lightly moisturizing and a natural anti-inflammatory, perfect for those with dry or sensitive scalp. This oil is also rich in omega-6 fatty acids, plus vitamin A and E, which soothe the skin. For dry scalp, massage apricot kernel oil into scalp before shampooing. A dab of the oil applied to ends of hair helps to stave off split ends. Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner contains apricot kernel oil –plus olive, jojoba, and evening primrose oils- to prevent breakage and damage.

3. Argan

If you are looking to add shine and manageability, and reduce frizz, argan oil is your new BFF. Argan oil can work wonders on coarse hair as a leave-in. May be applied to wet or dry hair before styling. Simply apply a few drops into ends of hair. Avoid hairline and scalp, to steer clear of the greasy look, if using argan oil as a leave-in. Those with fine hair may find this oil a bit too heavy, but makes a great moisturizing treatment when massaged into scalp prior to shampooing. Try Kahina 100% Organic Argan Oil.
