3 Simple Steps to Smooth, Soft Skin

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you would like softer, smoother skin right about now?  No, I am not psychic.  We all are looking for dry, rough skin remedies this time of year.

Months of indoor heating, cold temps, and moisture sapping winds can really do a number on healthy skin.  If you find you’ve lost your luster, read on.

Simple steps to smoother skin

Exfoliate   Dry dead skin cells accumulate on top of skin, causing itchiness and sallow complexion.  Slough them away with a good scrub.  I am using Ennecence SpaEscape Sugar Scrub.  It is made with raw sugar and a bunch of natural oils, so it sloughs and moisturizes.  Smells great too.  I even use this on my face (gently) and then follow up with my regular cleanser.  Twice a week is best for smooth skin.  If you are in the mood to try some DIY exfoliators, check out this article on Natural Exfoliators.

Wash Gently   For face I like Oy! Cleanse & Moisturize.  For body it is hard to beat Weleda Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash – creamy, luxe and smells sooo good.  Works great as a shaving gel too.  Weleda recently sent me their new Pomegranate line to try and I love it.  Read more in my post on Organic Beauty Source.

Moisturize + Protect   In the winter I like to double up on my moisturizers.  A rich lotion or balm to hydrate, then a layer of oil for protection and to seal in moisture.  On face try dabbing Oblige’ Rosehip Fusion – Blue over your usual moisturizer.  Rosehip oil is very gentle and gives skin a little glow.  It also helps to reduce any spots or uneven skin tone.  On body I am loving Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil.  Add a layer over their Pomegranate Regenerating Body Lotion and skin will stay hydrated (and itch-free) all day long.

You’ll be spring ready in no time.
