All Natural Brown Sugar and Honey Face and Body Scrub

Brown Sugar and Honey Face and Body Scrub

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • about 2 tablespoons of honey

Directions and Tips:

Mix both of the ingredients well then slather all over your face and body. If you don’t have any brown sugar on hand you can either use regular sugar, or make your own brown sugar by combining 1 cup of sugar with one tablespoon of molasses. Apply this scrub/mask all over your face and body first thing in the shower and then rinse it off at the end. Letting it sit on your skin for a little bit allows the honey to work a little more magic. The sugar is a wonderful exfoliant while not being too harsh on your skin. If you find that it is a little rough, you can substitute baking soda instead. It will still exfoliate wonderfully, but is perfect for more sensitive skin. The honey is a humectant which means that it will help your skin to retain moisture, which is excellent! It’s also a natural antiseptic so it cleanses your skin at the same time. If you do this routine at night, follow with a sweet almond oil or your favorite moisturizer to lock in all of the moisture.

You will be amazed at how smooth and delightful your skin will feel! I don’t use anything else in the colder months and I have noticed an increased glow and less dryness. Do you have any favorite go-to at home beauty mixes? What is your winter skin care routine like? I would love to hear any of your recipes and suggestions to keep skin lovely and hydrated all winter long! Feel free to leave any links, comments, or questions.
