Pratima Skincare Vata Oil Wintertime Skin Saver

Once colder weather arrives our skincare needs revamping.  And if you already tend toward the dry side, you really have your work cut out for you.

Luckily, I have found a true wintertime skin saver in Pratima Skincare Vata Essential Oil.  If you are unfamiliar with the three doshas, or need a little refresher course, check out my interview with Dr. Pratima Raichur.  Dr. Pratima is the creator of Pratima Skincare, a line of products for face and body based on ayurvedic principles.

Essential oils are big in Ayurveda and there is a combination used to treat just about any skincare type or issue.  The key with essential oils is to use the right amount added to a base oil, as essential oils are very potent and too strong for use on their own.

Dr. Pratima’s oils are all mixed up perfectly, the just right combination of the perfect essential oils.  And for Vata Essential Oil this is organic Sesame oil with Orange, Cardamom, and Geranium.  Simply pat a few drops of this amazing oil into clean skin and allow to soak in.  Then apply your daily moisturizer as usual.  If your skin is not particularly dry you may be able to get away with skipping the moisturizer all together and just wearing the oil.

I began using Vata Essential Oil regularly (day and night) once the dry weather set in.  My skin had started to become tight and dry, with a bit of redness around the nose and mouth.  Vata Oil fixed these problems instantly.  My skin feels soft and smooth, and is even-toned.

Another bonus to all of the Pratima Skincare oils – they smell divine!
