Have you been painfully searching for garments that are versatile, comfortable, modern and playful while being extremely eco-friendly? Well, no worries, your search stops here. From the mind of designer Andrea Crouse comes Gaia Conceptions, a line inspired by her months spent in India and Amsterdam. Not only do her well-rounded garments capture all of the above attributes, Andrea’s main goal is to use only the best available fabric including local organic cotton, raw silk and hemp.

Natural Plant Dyes from Gaia Conceptions

Receiving her fabrics in their natural state allows Andrea to hand dye them with low-impact fiber reactive dyes and most recently, her addition of natural plant dyes made from indigo, fuster wood and madder. All of her garments are handmade in North Carolina and are available on Etsy and at Gaia Conceptions. And, like me, if you ever stress about that garment you order being too snug, too short or too long Gaia Conceptions customize each order based on your size and color choice.

As for style, she’s nothing short of a genius. Each garment combines a need for exploration, beautiful colors and modern design which essentially, will make it a quick staple for your closet. The styles available range from pantsuits to massive kangaroo pouch hooded tee’s all of which are “multifunctional and keep you feeling comfortable and stylish in the work place, a day in the woods, or a night out.”
