This Mociun bikini has got to be one of the most stylish organic suits out this season. It is designed with an adjustable halter neck, cute low-cut bikini bottoms, and is fully lined in neon orange on the flip side.
Caitlin Mociun, is the founder and head designer of this label. She is a graduate of the RISD textile department and actively utilizes natural materials like hemp, organic cotton, and soy blends for her fashion collections.
Devidoll explains: “Though created with literature and art in mind each Mociun piece speaks to classic fashion as if it were created only for this purpose. This is intelligent, honest and striking fashion at its best.”

Bikini season is fast approaching, and we’ve got plenty of sexy options to share. Aaron Chang is one of our favorites as he is the pioneer of eco beachwear. Chang is not only a green swimsuit designer, he is also a talented surf photographer. The contest winner of Chic Eco’s 2009 swimwear designer poll is Nikki Sayavanh for Nikster LLC. Her bikinis, all made with sustainable materials, are inspired by nature and healthy living. The company motto is “the sexier side of green” for swimwear collections that are beyond traditional bikinis.
Nikki offers genuine Brazilian bikinis and eco-bikinis with an exotic flair. Some of her designs are carefully hand-finished through macrame stitching, embroidered beads or hand-painting. The accessories are made with coconuts, bamboo, shells, pearls, stones, wood, recycled metals, and other hand-selected tropical elements from around the globe. Kelly Marie Barry for Kelly B Designs was recently honored as first runner-up in the Chic Eco poll for Best Eco-Creative Swimwear Designer. Her first collection debut for women was Spring 2006 and she was rather quickly recognized, supplied online retailers everywhere, stocked boutiques (including Beverly Hills), and was posted on numerous blogs.
Kelly began her studies with environmental science at CU Boulder, which inspired her to design eco-green apparel. She spent three years at The California College of Arts and Crafts, CCAC. Front ring gathers the top, under bust stitching provides shaping and lined in front for full coverage. “Halter ties remove so you can wear it strapless if you prefer. 3 fabric strips on each side give this 1-piece back interest. They tie together for a perfect fit around the bodice.”
- For less coverage try this triangle bikini by Anna Cohen (a Portland based designer on a mission to marry cutting edge fashion with sustainability) which has flattering low rise, side tie bottoms with a neck and back tie triangle top. The beautiful teal color is fade resistant and will dry fast. “Created using surplus fabric leftover from making Olympic speed skater uniforms”
