Victoria and David Beckham: Bird Poo Facials

Enjoy this post, subscribe to FeelGoodStyle’s RSS Feed!

How do David Beckham and Posh Spice stay look so, well, posh? Bird Poo, it turns out, gives the soccer star and Spice Girl glowing skin.

Does it get any more ‘natural’ then that?

Victoria Beckham, the former Posh Spice, has recently begun using Geisha Facials, made from nightingale droppings, to combat the acne she’s had since she was a teenager. And now David Beckham, the LA Galaxy star, is getting into the bird poo too.

Because, people, it takes more than just 6 inch heels to look this good.

OBV :: The Formidable Landscape Of Modern Organic Beauty.

If you recall I recently wrote about the emergence of a phenomenal number of organic & natural beauty products - 800 last year alone to be exact. That figure in and of itself is pretty impressive but more compelling for me is the way the formulation landscape is changing… dramatically. Gone are the days and the mindset of conventional wisdom dictating that if you use natural or organic skincare you’re selling yourself short somehow in the anti-aging stakes. If you didn’t already see it coming, consider yourself now informed. With all the revolutionary discoveries being made in green chemistry and an increasingly complex understanding of how to impact the very structure of skin, we’re entering a new era of….. Get Your FREE Mini-Makeover At The Suki Trunk Show This Week

If you’re in NYC this week (or all the time), head over to Henri Bendel today through Sunday for absolutely free mini-makeovers by Suki makeup artist Melanie Isett.  As one of my favorite skincare and cosmetic lines, each bottle and jar comes chocked full of bioactive organic ingredients created for even the most sensitive of skin types.  I completely agree with Sophie Uliano, author of Gorgeously Green when she wrote ”Suki has developed one of my favorite skin care lines.  The products are every bit as wonderful as high-end products, but they are free of synthetics, GMO ingredients, petrochemicals, fragrances and dyes and animal ingredients“.  To register for your free makeover:

Organic Beauty View :: Want Smooth, Sexy Skin? This Works.

Kathy Phillips has an impressive pedigree as ex Vogue Beauty Director, and now International Beauty Director for all Conde Nast Asia Fashion Magazines. It should be no surprise then that her own beauty line, This Works, has attracted a string of accolades and awards (Times Best 100 Beauty Products, Instyle Best Body Oil, Marie Claire Prix D’Excellence… you get the picture) not to mention a cult following. Compelled to find out what all the fuss is about I recently tried the Deep Dry Leg Oil and I have to tell you I’m as hooked as everyone else. Read the rest of this entry »

Move Over Vogue :: Coco Eco Magazine Is On The (Green) Scene.

Coco Eco Magazine is about to officially launch and how do I know? Yours truly has been named Beauty Director! I’m beyond excited that finally there is a magazine for the savvy ecoista among us that has substance, style and and walks its talk. While there have been a steady release of ‘eco-magazines’ on the green scene of late (Positively Green, Boho, et al) this is the first time I’ve seen something that truly lives up to the moniker. Everything about this magazine has been considered with deep thought and well-conceived insight with regard to the environment, our health, and wellbeing, but what I especially love is that it also caters to my inner organic glamazon, responsible hedonist and eco-fashionista! We Love Feelgood Tea Time :: Steep Mint, Green Tea, and Chamomile for Fresh Skin

Tea is so good for us to drink regularly, and tea also has amazing healing powers when applied on the skin. For example, mint tea is cleansing as a tea (with fresh mint leaves), a toner, and facial steam. It is especially delectable when combined with compliments like orange and lime:

  • Deep Steep Organic Moisture Stick (also featured here by Emma): Honeydew and Spearmint form a nice blend of sweet melon, and spearmint green tea, “& orange with a hint of lime. The perfect summertime scent for all year round. Gives lips loads of shine!” Offered at FutureNatural.com

Green Diva’s Guide to Fresh Style: Luscious Organic Mod Skin Care

Mod Skin organic skin care

I have extremely sensitive skin, so I am very careful when offering to test skin care products. When I read about Mod.Skin, I was cautiously optimistic and excited about the prospect of a line that seems so clean. Of course I was also skeptical because I’ve tried some that say such wonderful things on their packaging and in their promo materials that it is easy to be enthusiastic until my skin rebels in a show of random blotchy rashes or better yet, zits. ick. I’ve gotten these results from some of the best-promoted ‘organic’ natural skin care products touted out there. I won’t diss them here because part of it is probably my extraordinarly sensitive skin. I think I’m a perfect skin care product tester - like a canary in a coal mine - if it isn’t really squeaky clean, my skin will react to it. So far, only a couple of products have kept this canary’s face rash/zit free and Mod.Skin is one of them.
