Help Build the Best Green Jobs Site EVER

Finding jobs that align with your ethics can be hard, especially in the world of clothing and fashion. What if there were a place where you could look for a green job a trust that you’d be making a difference?

Help Build the Best Green Jobs Site EVER

Important Media – our parent company – is working hard to launch a super awesome green jobs site, and they need your help. With your help, we can support entrepreneurs, clean tech start-ups, and truly sustainable food companies with this cool new green jobs resource.

From organic clothing to sustainable fashion writing gigs, this new site wants to help connect job-seekers with jobs that make a difference every day. It’s a potentially world-changing project, and I wish this resource had been available back when I was looking to change my career. If you want to help, you can donate to the IndieGoGo campaign here.

This project is close to my heart, because I know what a struggle it can be to pursue your passion.

Back in 2008, I left my corporate, decidedly not green job to pursue my own path. Y’all, it was rough. I was selling my handmade aprons and lunch bags at markets on weekends and spending all week sewing and writing for my (at the time) very short list of clients. It took years to build up a business that allowed me to pay the bills, and a site like the one Important Media is building would have made things so much easier.

Making that leap from being a worker bee to pursuing my passions was tough, and I am thrilled that I can support a site that might make that jump easier for other people. There is room in the new green economy for all of us, and it’s exciting to be working on a project that will support folks who might otherwise feel stuck in their current jobs.

Want to make this project happen? There are a few ways that you can support us:

1. Donate. This is a start-up venture, and it needs capital. Even if you can only throw in a dollar, you’re making a huge difference.

2. Spread the word. I totally get that cash donations aren’t in everyone’s budget, especially if you’ve just begun pursuing your own passion. Whether you donate or not, we could use your word-of-mouth support. Share our campaign on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, or Instagram. Tell a friend!
