Cropped tees are super hip right now, but they don’t always look as good on as maybe we imagine they will. At least, that’s been my experience. I am super high-waisted, and cropped tees just make me look super boxy. Yet I’ve got a couple of these in my closet, because I wanted them to look good on me so much! Maybe it’s time to face facts and turn those unflattering crop tops into something I’ll actually wear.

Portia at Makery shared this ingenious tutorial for lengthening a cropped tee, and I have to tell you: it’s awesome. And simple. If you can sew a straight line on your machine, you can do this simple DIY refashion. All that you need are:
+ a cropped tee that you’re not wearing anymore
+ woven or jersey fabric in a weight that’s similar to your tee
+ fabric scissors
+ straight pins
+ sewing machine, thread, and a ball point needle
+ iron
