Fashion Trends: Ankle Boots

Keep up with spring fashion trends: choose cute booths without the animal cruelty!

Boots tend to be made from leather or sheepskin, but there are quite a few super cute, animal-friendly options that you can choose! You can totally keep up with fashion trends without hurting cows or sheep.

I often hear criticism about vegan shoes because leather is perceived as a natural material. The truth is, the tanning process for leather is very toxic. Tanneries pollute waterways, and while synthetic leather may not be the most eco-friendly, leather is no environmental superstar either.

Ready to fantasy shop with me? Here are the vegan ankle boots that I’m eyeing for spring!

Fashion Trends: Leather-Free Ankle Boots

1. Adelaide Bootie from Cri de Coeur

Cri de Coeur is a super hip vegan shoe company, and they’re committed to choosing environmentally-friendly components whenever possible for their shoes. The Adelaide Bootie is a sweatshop-free shoe, so you can stay on-trend without harming animals or human workers!

2. Sulley Fabric Bootie from Madden Girl

This cute ankle boot has a sassy side buckle. Wouldn’t it go nicely with a vegan moto jacket? The link above is to the site Moo Shoes, which is a wonderland of cruelty-free shoes and accessories. If you’re looking for belts, bags, shoes, or any other fashion trends, Moo Shoes is a great place to start.

3. Arcopedico L19

Not all of Arcopedico’s shoes are vegan, but the L19 is a very cute cruelty-free boot! Faux-leather gets a bad rep for causing sweaty feet, but the water-resistant fabric that makes up these shoes is breathable, so your feet stay warm and dry without getting too hot and sweaty.

Do you have a favorite vegan shoe company? I’d love to hear your faves in the comments!
