Movember :: Men’s Health Awareness Month

There is a lot more going on this month than just Thanksgiving!

During BCA month women (and men, too) don the pink stuff. But this is Movember, the month dedicated to awareness of men’s health issues.

So what do men put on for the month?

The Moustache.

That’s right, guys of all ages, ethnicities and walks of life are donning the ‘stache in awareness of issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

I know what many of you are thinking, so I’m just going to say it. Ewww. Yes, moustaches can be icky. But, if done right, can also be pretty swag. And if not done right, hopefully they are going for ironic.

Let’s take a look at some hairy men who’ve grown one right, and not-so-much.

Johnny Depp Movember
These guys know how to make facial hair look good.
Mel Gibson Movember
Don’t try this at home.

We girls may not be able to participate naturally, but you can be a Mo Sista. Grab a Movember tee or hat and show your awareness. Another way – talk to the men in your life about their health and encourage them to get themselves checked regularly. We women are better about going to the doc than our guys are, so a little nagging is good in this case.
