The Power of Doing…Nothing!

Do you ever take the time to just do nothing? It turns out that even 10 quiet moments a day can do wonders for your physical and emotional well-being.

In this inspiring talk, meditation guru and former Buddhist monk Andy Puddicombe talks about how giving yourself the freedom to do nothing – and he means nothing – can refresh and transform your mind and your health. Nothing means no reading, no music, no TV, and even avoiding conscious thoughts. He advocates taking 10 minutes to just be.

Of course, turning off your mind is a lot easier said than done. Even a minute of truly doing nothing can be pretty daunting if you’re used to the constant inputs that most of us encounter in our day-to-day. A guided meditation – while it’s not doing nothing – can help you condition yourself a bit better for truly doing nothing.
