Natural Makeup Look for Summer

Do you ever feel like you need a make under?

Yep, you read that right…make UNDER!  During winter months it is difficult (for most of us) to forgo concealer and eye makeup.  A washed-out complexion will do that.  But once warm weather gets here that freedom from hair and makeup seems to set in.

Wrap hair up in a pony, layer on some lip, throw on your sunglasses and you are good for at least a trip to drop off the kids or grab a coffee.  I truly believe that it is this freedom, in part, that makes summer feel so darn good.

We have discussed getting your glow on here before, but for those of you who missed it, it is very hard to go wrong with my tanner of choice – Lavera Summer Glow Self Tanner for Face.  Another one that’s tough to beat is True Natural Self Tanner Anti Aging Face & Body.

Now that your skin is safely tanned, let’s talk makeup tips.  Or, shall we say, lips.  This month’s Lucky Mag featured a few truly nontoxic products, but it was the last page that really caught my attention.  This is where Lucky, each month, features someone’s mother in “My Mom, The Style Icon” with a flashback of style and the product’s you’ll need to get the look.  This time the article was on actress Emmy Rossum’s mom and her cool 60’s style.  Emmy mentions she likes to wear red lipstick with a bare face, just like her mom, and I thought “how very summertime!”.

If you are into lipstick try Benecos Natural Lipstick in Just Red.  More of a gloss kinda gal?  I have been using Marie Natie Lip Gloss in Love Struck and lovin’ it.  Now all you need is your favorite Twistband and you are set. Vitamin D actually may help save on health insurance plans.
