Anti-Inflammatory Diet Follow Up

Feelgood Quickie

For the past couple of weeks now I have been following the Anti-Inflammatory Diet we talked about last week.  Mainly, for me, this meant cutting out sweets and unhealthy carbs.  The first few days without things like yummy breads and cookies is sort of tough, if you are used to eat them, but after that you hardly miss them.  It’s really more of a habit – “I need a little something sweet after dinner”—than a craving, I’ve realized.

Opting for fruit and veg first is healthier and gives you energy.  Oatmeal, natural peanut butter and lean dairy (lowfat cheese sticks or cottage cheese) keep me going throughout the day.  At night we eat a healthy dinner and, of course, skip the dessert.  Still, not drinking the tea though.  Oh, why can’t green tea taste like coffee?!

Guess what…even though eating an anti-inflammatory diet is not necessarily meant to help you shed pounds, I have lost a couple.  Just ditching the refined carbs will take care of any extra winter-time weight pretty quickly.  Another bonus:  I feel great.

Have you tried an anti-inflammatory eating plan?  We’d love to hear your thoughts.
