Secret to Gorgeous Skin? It’s Free, Easy & Feels Great

Most of us have at least one skincare product in our beauty arsenal that is supposed to make our skin gorgeous and younger looking, right?  And these products usually aren’t cheap.

Well, there is something you have constant access to that is free and easy to do.  Sleep!

The bottom line in maintaining plump, firm, glowing skin comes from within.  If you are well rested, well hydrated, getting adequate exercise, and not eating junky food it will show up on your face.

The results of a recent study show a good night’s sleep gives a healthy, attractive look.  Not enough equals a visible difference in facial appearance.

How much sleep is enough?  This does depend on the individual to some extent, but a good 7-9 is what’s suggested by SleepFoundation.org for adults.  Check out their handy sleep chart.  I love the part about the teenage nightowl who is grumpy at wakeup.  Many of us adults fall into this category too.  I, personally, could stay up until 12 or 1 easily to read, write, and do stuff I can’t do during the busy daytime hours.  The problem is the nasty start you get to your next day.  Not so much fun.

And lack of sleep does more than trash your looks.  When sleep deprived our emotions are out of whack, our decision-making abilities are off, and our judgment is even bad.

To catch some better Z’s for you personally Ayurvedic consultant, Monica Bloom, offers these great tips on getting proper sleep.

And check out how the celebs get their beauty sleep.

Now, what about those anti-aging beauty products?  Think of them as a really great dress.  You wouldn’t expect the dress to keep you slim and in shape, but it does enhance an already good thing.
