Thanks for this great post. Recently, I was diagnosed with both lead and mercury poisoning, and was clueless as to how I was being exposed. I started researching everything I put 'in' my body, as well as the air and water quality in my home. No luck there. Then I starting researching my makeup and was shocked. However, what shocked me more was that my 'silver' fillings contain 50 percent mercury which is slowly released into your body. Do a quick youtube search for the university of calgary study of amalgam filling and you will be more disgusted with what the FDA deems safe. There are absolutely no safe levels for these neurotoxins (ask any chemist)and to tell people otherwise is just sick.

Though I'm only 30, I've been wearing lipstick for years - since the age of 13. Thankfully, I made the switch to eco brands a few years ago and cut back on lipstick in general. I recently had my heavy metal levels tested and glad to find out they are all low.

"The FDA tested 22 brands of lipsticks of which the brand names and manufacturers have not been disclosed."

Why not since its "safe" anyway??
