What a great post. All the razors you have mentioned there are certainly more eco friendly than the regular disposable ones. Shaving with both a straight razor and safety razor will not only provide a supremely close shave, you'll also be saving the planet as you do it. The blades themselves on old style razors wear out much slower than on disposables and are much much better!

The secret to wet-shaving is getting yourself a good double-edge Merkur razor, shaving soap or cream and a shaving brush. Different people prefer different razors and with time you will find the one that works best for you. For starters a medium size, moderately priced, new razor will do the job. As for me, I love my double edge Merkur razor.

I've used many different kinds of razors over the years but I recently began using the Gillette safety razor and I love it. I get a close shave and stay smooth for a long time, it's so nice!
