Aromatherapy Benefits Vulnerable Children

Goodworks AromatherapyBeauty counters, at this time of year, are stacked with goodies and gifts promising to help you (be more beautiful), help the environment (by ensuring the ingredients are harvested with care) and help others (by making a charitable donation for each item purchased) so how do you choose between them?
One exciting UK initiative has been launched by Kathy Phillips (previously Beauty Director of VOGUE magazine, and now International Beauty Director of Conde Nast Asia), Boots the Chemist, and the charity Kids Company, which supports thousands of vulnerable inner city children.
The products, created exclusively for Boots by Phillips, are the Goodworks True Aromatherapy range. The formulators who worked with Phillips have over four decades of experience in blending essential oils and are considered to be at the top of the UK aromatherapy profession.

The goodies contain 100% pure essential oils, are free from parabens, mineral oils, synthetic colours and fragrances, petro-chemicals, GM Ingredients, sodium lauryl or lauryl sulphate, and are animal testing free.

There are 21 products to choose from including:

  1. Good Karma Shower Gel, infused with rose, cedarwood and jasmine essential oils and plant derived foaming agents
  2. Good Night’s Sleep Bath Oil, a blend of essential oils to help you to relax and sleep well. Infused with orange, patchouli and howood essential oils
  3. Good as Gold Body Cream. luxurious enveloping body cream for everyday indulgence, with Ylang Ylang, howood and orange essential oils.

And your purchase can have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. The Goodworks Good Karma Shower Gel costs £8, and for every one sold, £2 goes directly to ‘Kids Company’ whose founder Camila Batmanghelidjh feels there is good synergy between the products and the charity’s work because as well as providing a refuge from abuse or drug use to children, the organisation’s South London centre massage, reflexology and cranial osteopathy to help the children relax and to boost their confidence.
