Green Fashion Spotlight on Mainstream Brands like Banana Republic, Nike, and H&M Organics

Many mainstream brands with savvy designers are releasing environmentally conscious organic lines for fall. Displayed above from left to right:

1. H&M’s expanded their organic collection, which includes shirts (like this light purple horse sketch top shown first), scarves, jackets and pants for women, men, and children. A preview of the fall designs may be viewed in the Green Daily gallery.2. Thoughts on Nike organics can be previewed on their customer education site. With testimonials like Innovate for a Better World, on their eco-conscious efforts to date, it is clear, they have come a long way, and there is always more to improve.

3. “Greener. One Step at a Time Is the motto of Gap Inc.’s Banana Republic line filled with affordable stylish organic clothes. For example, the ribbed tank shown last, is on sale in turquoise and forest green. The eco conscious, vice president of women’s design at Banana Republic, Alessandra Brunialti (who designed the fresh green looks above), told Elle recently:

“I grew up in Rome, the land of the tiny refrigerator and the even smaller closet,” she said, “We only bought what we needed and always ate locally sourced food. That way of life has stayed with me.”…Brunialti lives a low impact lifestyle both in New York City and her home in the Hamptons,” yet the biggest gift she’s given the planet is the work done on BR’s new eco-collections.
