Now (on top of my yoga meditations) I’ve been reading another little guidebook on simple self meditations to instantly remind me of the beauty in our everyday surroundings, and let me share they work like magic.

I own several of her books and will confess to reading them recently during long jury duty breaks, waiting in line and so on. The best part of these do it yourself meditations is that they are easy enough to remember when the going gets tough. My favorite spark of Barbara’s genius is in her happiness web tools which stream more of her wise sayings each time the pages are refreshed!






I stumbled on this article coincidentally after meditating on just this subject this morning.
In my mind I was debating the benefits of longer termed guided meditations - like the ones in a group I recently joined: “mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy”, vs. zipping through a 61 point body scan type meditation as I have been doing on my own for several years, without a noticed improvement in my outlook or gaining any real internal insights as well.
I have to say I am looking forward to slowing down my approach through the group; mainly because I feel my focus is in need of a tune up - rather than a speed boost.
