Proving once again that eco-conscious fashion does not have to be frumpy or “earthy,” Callie Mick’s line of adorable aprons are hot couture, indeed. The Sadie and Lily aprons give full coverage so that you can spend less time doing laundry and more time indulging in your homemade kitchen creations, while the Julia apron provides the perfect size splatter shield from waist down in case you have a tendency (like I do) to bump up against the counter.
Aprons are available online and by email through www.calliemicks.com and range in price from $44 to $48 per apron. Also check out the adorable children’s line! Warm chocolate chip cookies aren’t the only reason little girls everywhere will want to mimic their mom’s in the kitchen.

You’re right, these do like stylish.
According to the product website, they’re made from recycled content, but they also say that they’re made of linen.
Is that washable?? I kinda wish that they were made from organic cotton or bamboo, but if this linen would have otherwise gone on the scrap heap, then I guess the product really does qualify for eco-friendliness…

Hi Aaron,
You are right – they aren’t organic, but most of these materials are pre-dyed and cut, and use of pre-consumer remnants prevents an estimated 5 billion pounds of waste from hitting US landfills.
It’s actually better in some ways than sourcing NEW cotton, organic or not. The hope is that one day, it will all be organic and we won’t have to make that choice. One other think that she does to be responsible is source locally – cutting down on transportation cost and supporting her local and US economy.
I believe that everything is machine washable according to the site – the quality of the linen is very good from what I’ve seen so far. I would just wash gently.
Best – Courtney
